DESCRIPTION
Atarax is an antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of such allergic conditions as hay fever and urticaria. It is also used for the short-term treatment of anxiety.

POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS
Dry mouth, headache, confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, muscle weakness

CAUTIONS

• This drug should be used with caution by people with epilepsy, an enlarged prostate gland, glaucoma, or liver disease.
• This medication may cause drowsiness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery.

DRUG INTERACTIONS
Barbiturates, opioids, analgesics, phenothiazines, quinidine, disopyramide, other antihistamines, antidepressants, atropine, haloperidol

FOOD INTERACTIONS
Avoid alcoholic drink.

HERBAL INTERACTIONS
Corkwood, henbane leaf, jimsonweed, scopolia, chamomile, cowslip, hops, Jamaican dogwood, kava, khat, Queen Anne's lace, senega, skullcap, valerian
