Clarinex currently is approved by the FDA for use in patients with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.

POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS
Headache (14%), fatigue (5%), dizziness (4%), somnolence (2%), pharyngitis (4%); dry mouth (3%), nausea (5%); dyspepsia (3%), dysmenorrhea (2%).

CAUTIONS

• Increased intraocular pressure, hepatic disease, renal insufficiency
• Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
