Do not take this drug at the same time as cisapride.
Notify your doctor if you have impaired liver or kidney function or if you have developed liver problems while taking other antifungals.
This drug has caused (rarely) serious problems with liver function or skin reactions and may require monitoring during multiple dose therapy. Notify your doctor immediately if you develop abdominal pain, jaundice (yellowing of skin), dark urine, or rash.
This drug has strong inhibitory action on a specific set of liver enzymes (cytochrome P450 enzymes 3A4). Several other drugs are metabolized (cleared from the body or activated) by these liver enzymes, and thus, their levels may be increased or decreased when administered with fluconazole.
In some cases, these drugs should not be given during fluconazole therapy (such as cisapride), in other cases, when these drugs are given in combination, dosage adjustments may be needed.
As these are too numerous to list, you should always check with your doctor or pharmacist prior to starting a new medication, herbal, or nonprescription product.
