DESCRIPTION
Silagra is the generic equivalent of Viagra. Pretty much all the generic viagra substances are made of sildenafil citrate like Viagra. The main difference between Silagra and Viagra is the price.

POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS
Headache, flushing (face and upper body turning red and warm), stomach upset, running nose, vision changes (things look blue). Vision change are least common.

CAUTIONS

• Patients using any type of organic nitrates (eg, nitroglycerin, isosorbide mono, dinitrate). Enhanced effects leading to prolonged hypotension.
• Elderly. Starting dose of 25 mg.
• It should not be used with nitrates in any form.

DRUG INTERACTIONS
Amlodipine, alpha-blockers (eg, doxazosin), cimetidine, erythromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, tacrolimus, nitratres, protease inhibitors (eg, ritonavir, saquinavir)

FOOD INTERACTIONS
Grapefruit juice. Avoid substantial alcohol intake. May be taken with or without food.

HERBAL INTERACTIONS
St. John’s wort

PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING CAUTIONS
FDA Pregnancy Risk Category B. Not for use in women, and not recommended during breast-feeding.

SPECIAL INFORMATION

• Sildenafil does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV.
• Silagra absorption is reduced with a high-fat meal.
• Tablets may be split.
